In commemoration of Governors State University's 50th Anniversary, Orbert Davis’ Chicago Jazz Philharmonic brings its full 60-member symphonic jazz orchestra to the Center for Performing Arts featuring jazz legends alongside young lion musicians.
In addition to young lion musicians who have graduated from GSU and CJP's Jazz Academy program, notable features will include saxophonist Mwata Bowden; vocalists Bobbi Wilsyn and Margaret Murphy-Webb; vibraphonist Thaddeus Tukes; and a trumpet fanfare with Orbert Davis and Bobby Lewis alongside more special guests and surprises!
